Arabista, adiunkt w Instytucie Kulturoznawstwa i Dziennikarstwa AIK, stały współpracownik Katedry Porównawczych Studiów Cywilizacji UJ. Członek Polskiego Towarzystwa Kulturoznawczego oraz Stowarzyszenia Bezkresy Kultury. Zastępca redaktora naczelnego czasopisma “The Polish Journal of the Arts and Culture. New Series.” Obecnie zastępca dyrektora Instytutu Kulturoznawstwa i Dziennikarstwa ds. ogólnych.
